Stiebel Eltron concludes ISH with excellent results

With a record level of international visitors, 190,000 people from 161 countries made their way to Frankfurt Exhibition Centre for ISH 2019. Managing Director Dr. Nicholas Matten concludes: "With our topics and new products, we were able to inspire our partners and customers just as much as with our new stand and the clear concept. We had thousands of high quality conversations - almost all of them started with the visitors saying how impressive the new Stiebel Eltron booth was. Our current campaign is 'A Clear Focus' for an all-electric future and this motto was consistently implemented in the 1,300 square metre booth".

Innovations from all core areas - hot water, heating, ventilation and cooling - were shown in Frankfurt. In particular, the focus was on sustainable heat pumps for all types of heat sources and applications: for renovation as well as for new buildings, for single-family homes as well as for commercial buildings. Visitors were also consistently positive about Stiebel Eltron's clear focus with future refrigerants: "From the beginning of 2020, we will gradually convert our appliances to the environmentally friendly and explosion-proof refrigerant R454C," says Dr. Matten. R454C has a GWP value (global warming potential) of less than 150 and contributes at least 10 times less to the greenhouse effect when it is emitted into the atmosphere than conventional refrigerants. "In addition to its low GWP value, R454C offers other advantages", explains Dr. Matten. "It is flame-retardant and, unlike propane (R290), for example. There is no danger of explosion even during handling or leakage, so that the installation and operation of the heat pump can still be carried out easily and safely, especially when installed indoors".

Around 40 percent of all Stiebel Eltron visitors were foreign guests – Dr. Matten was also very satisfied with this: "Of course our German customers were the focus of attention in Frankfurt. But the ISH has become an international platform where we can present ourselves perfectly as a global company - which we did excellently in 2019. Many of our worldwide subsidiaries used the trade fair as an opportunity to invite customer groups to Germany. The visit to the fair was often part of a longer stay in Germany, with visits of the headquarter in Holzminden for training and factory tours.
