Marlborough Sounds Pods

This stunning family holiday home in Marlborough Sounds is a remarkable example of how existing buildings can be converted into modern, comfortable, and energy-efficient accommodation.

The project involved removing an existing sleepout and constructing two Pods using Formance SIP panels and STIEBEL ELTRON's VLR 70 Decentralised Heat Recovery Ventilation units. The main quarters also underwent a complete overhaul, including an upgrade of the thermally broken aluminium windows, insulation, and ventilation system.

Outside living spaces were also transformed, with extensive retaining and decking areas added to provide more space for relaxation and entertainment. Although the project was challenging, the end result is a stunning family retreat that performs well and provides maximum comfort, all while being sustainable and energy-efficient. Overall, this project is a testament to what can be achieved with careful planning, attention to detail, and a commitment to sustainability.
